Planning Tech Exchange's 30th Year Celebration Gala
Background
Tech Exchange is a nonprofit organization based in Oakland, California, dedicated to closing the digital divide and promoting digital equity. Founded in 1995, Tech Exchange provides underserved communities with access to refurbished technology, digital literacy training, reliable internet resources, and tech career pathway readiness. Through partnerships with local schools, governments, and community organizations, Tech Exchange distributes computers, offers technical support, digital literacy classes, and empowers individuals with the skills needed to navigate the digital world confidently.
The 30th Celebration marks a major milestone for the organization, commemorating three decades of advancing digital equity and providing technology access to underserved communties. The event was designed to bring together community leaders, partners, donors, and community to celebrate past achievements and build momentum for future initiatives.
As a major campaign, the celebration successfully strengthened community partnership, secured new sponsorships, and elevated public awareness of Tech Exchange's mission. Through impactful programming, inspiring speakers, and strong community turnout, the event not only celebrated the organization's legacy but also reinforced Tech Exchange's ongoing commitment to digital equity for all.
Silent Auction Coordination
Oversaw the planning and execution of the silent auction, managing item acquisition to onsite coordination. Designed supporting material - including the signage and display layouts - to create an engaging and organized experience for attendees. Collaborated with local businesses and partners to secure in-kind donations for the auction to help raise funds for Tech Exchange and increase community participation during the event.
Event Outreach, Collateral & Marketing
Designed and produced all major printed and digital materials for the Gala including invitations, tickets, event program booklet, slideshow presentation, and sponsor table cards featuring integrated QR codes. Each element was carefully crafted to reflect the 30th Anniversary's visual identity and ensure a cohesive, high-quality guest experience.
Oversaw the production and vendor outreach of all print material to ensure high production quality for posters, greeting cards, tickets, and, awards, and t-shirt.
In addition, coordinated guest outreach by preparing and sending personalized invitation to 100+ donors, sponsors, and community partners, driving key donations and attendance.
